The Dog Walker's Killer

The Evolution7

We are going to look at serial killers again.

This time we are going to the Netherlands and we are talking about the 27-year-old Thijs H.

In May 2019, the Netherlands was shocked, when three people were found murdered, in Den Hagg and Limburg, in what appears to be a chaotic killing spree.

May 5th, the battered body of a 56-year-old woman was found. Her body was found in Scheveningen Bosjes where she had been walking her dog when she was murdered.

Just two days later, two bodies were found in Limburg, a 68-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman .Both victims had been walking their dog at the time of death.

As you probably already guessed, the detectives quickly put 2 and 2 together and could see that the murders were related.

It was reported that the police was looking for the suspect and asked not to seek him out, as it was suspected he was mentally unstable.

A total of 16 tips came from the public, and 12 of them were about the 56-year-old woman. Which led to finding the 27-year-old suspect who lived in The Hague and studied cultural anthropology.

Thijs H. was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the three murders. Thijs H. chose to appeal this sentence, due to his psychological problems being the reason for the murders.

In 2018 he began suffering from hallucinations and delusions, which is led to a suicide attempt in 2018.

When first appeal made it to court, they found him guilty and sentenced him to 22 years in prision, despite Thijs not being mentally stable. The court concluded that he was aware of what he did and extended his sentence with 4 years.

However, Thijs H still has appeal options left.
