We are going to look at serial killer again.
This time we are going to the Netherlands and we are going to talk about the 27-year-old Thijs H.
In May 2019, the Netherlands received a shock when three people were found murdered, in Den Hagg and Limburg, in what appears to be a chaotic killing spree
5 May, the battered body of a 56-year-old woman was found, her body was found in Scheveningen Bosjes when she had been out to walkin her dog at the time of the murder.
Just two days later, two bodies were found in Limburg, a 68-year-old man and a 63-year-old women . Both victoms had been walking their dog at the time of death.
As you probably already guessed, the detectives quickly put 2 and 2 together and could see that the murderers were related.
It was reported that the police were looking for the suspect and that he was asked not to seek him out, as it was suspected that he was mentally unstable.
A total of 16 tips came from the public, and 12 of them were about the 56-year-old woman. Which led to finding the 27-year-old suspect who lived in The Hague and studied cultural anthropology.
Thijs H. was sentenced to 18 years in prison for the three murderers. Thijs H. choose to appeal this sentence, due to his psychological problems were to blame for the murders. In 2018 he began to suffer from hallucinations and delusions, which is led to a suicide attempt in 2018
When first appeal made it to court, they found him guilty and sentenced him to 22 years in prision, despite Thijs not being mentally stable. The court concluded that he was aware of what he did and extended his sentence with 4 years
However, Thijs H still has appeal options left.
